Self-Care what’s the hype?
When was the last time that you actually did something for yourself? This could be because you wanted to or you really needed to and there was no getting around it. As working wives self-care is vital. We tend to place ourselves in very last place of our own lives so self-care is not on our to-do list. If we do anything for ourselves that is more than the bare minimum we feel downright bad. We feel selfish. We tend to keep it a secret from our husbands at least. 🙂 But I want you to know that self-care is so vast and so wide that you should AT LEAST be doing something for you weekly. And before you say it, no it doesn’t have to cost you a dime. Yes, self-care can be free.

What are some free activities that you could do to add more emphasis to caring for yourself? Going for a walk at lunch instead of working through lunch may help clear your mind for the second part of your day. That’s free. You can also look online for free meditation and yoga exercises that you do at the start or end of your day or even during lunch. What, I hear you I don’t have time! But my rebuttal to you is how can you afford not to add ten minutes or so to your day to in turn increase your overall peace exponentially.
So now when you feel stressed and overwhelmed like you often times do instead of adding to your workload and burying yourself further…. take a break. Stop and actually smell a rose or any flower. Walk outside of your stuffy high rise office, get a little sunlight. A little vitamin D and fresh air have never hurt anyone.
Remember just because you feel like you don’t have time for yourself does NOT mean that you can’t make time. My grandmother used to say people make time for what they want to! So I say to you factor YOU into your day and I promise you-you will be glad you did.
What have you done for you lately?
